FSD v14.3.5: Better on the Road, Still Struggles to Park
Tesla pushed FSD (Supervised) v14.3.5 on July 13, 2026. I've been watching the early impressions come in, and the picture is familiar: real progress on some fronts, frustrating stagnation on others.
The Situational Awareness Improvements Are Real
The headline improvement in v14.3.5 is better situational awareness, and from what users are reporting, it actually shows. The car is taking wider turns to avoid obstacles rather than threading the needle and hoping. And when a large vehicle needs to make a wide turn, FSD is now backing up to give it room instead of sitting there confused.
That second one matters more than it sounds. Getting FSD to understand that it needs to yield space, not just stop, is a meaningful step. Stopping is easy. Backing up and repositioning requires the car to model what the other vehicle is actually trying to do. That's the harder problem.
Speed Profiles Are Still a Mess
Here's where it gets annoying. Speed Profiles, which let you set how aggressively FSD drives, are inconsistent in v14.3.5. Multiple users are reporting they need to manually adjust them frequently during a drive. This was also a problem in v14.3.4.
So this carried over from the previous version without being fixed. That's worth noting plainly. If you were hoping v14.3.5 would be the one where FSD finally holds your speed settings without babysitting, it isn't. The feature exists, but it doesn't behave reliably enough to actually trust.
Parking: Still Not There
Multiple users are reporting failed parking attempts in v14.3.5. I'd call this disappointing except that FSD parking has been inconsistent for long enough that "disappointing" stopped being the right word. It's just the current state of things.
Parking seems like it should be the easy part (low speeds, known geometry, no other cars moving), but it's consistently where FSD stumbles. One possibility is that the parking scenarios in training data are harder to generalize from than highway driving. Or it's just lower on the priority list. Either way, don't hand the wheel over for a tight parallel park yet.
Camera Preview While Driving Is Actually Useful
The new feature that deserves more attention: you can now open Camera Preview while the car is moving. Previously this was only available in Park. It's a small quality-of-life addition, but being able to check what the car's cameras are seeing while you're in motion is genuinely handy, especially when you're trying to understand why FSD made a particular decision.
And for anyone who uses the camera view to monitor blind spots or tight situations, not having to pull over to check it is a real improvement.
The Overall Picture
v14.3.5 is a minor release that moves the needle on the right things (situational awareness, spatial reasoning) while leaving known problems (speed profile consistency, parking) unresolved. The camera preview addition is a nice practical touch.
If you're running v14.3.4 and wondering whether to take the update, yes. The situational awareness improvements are real and worth having. But don't go in expecting the parking situation to be fixed. It isn't.
